The workshop teaches beginning and intermediate art students how to paint representational landscapes. The class will emphasize light, value, and the impressionist color theories of Claude Monet.
Classes will be conducted outside on location – a different place each day for two hours in morning light. On the first day the class will meet for three hours instead of two, and Amy will do a demonstration before students begin painting. Students will be expected to do an additional sketch in evening light on their own time. The class will meet for four mornings, Monday-Thursday; Friday will be a make-up day in the event of heavy rain.
